OKLAHOMA CITY – A Senate panel on Tuesday defeated a measure that would have allowed for the chemical castration of violent sex offenders.bThe Senate Judiciary Committee rejected Senate Bill 671 by Sen. Mark Allen, R-Spiro, by a vote of 5-4 with no debate.
The legislation would have applied to sexually violent offenses including rape, rape by instrumentation, lewd or indecent proposals or acts against a child under 16, solicitation of a minor and procuring a minor to participate in pornography. Full Article
Wow by a 5 to 4 vote that’s so scary people are insane.
It’s good to know there are at least 5 people in Oklahoma with some sense about them…and probably thousands of others who are thankful for that fact!
I wonder if Mark Allen knows how a parent of a child who lost a limb from a drunk driver colliding into them could feel worse than a parent of a 15 year old teenage child who got an indecent proposal, maybe flipped off if they were driving really badly, maybe indecently proposed to in a bar with the child using a fake ID ( John Walsh comes to mind on this one ). But no hands chopped off for the drunk driver who physically caused a loss of a limb or death. Mark Allen needs to be put in prison for proposing this perverse scenario of chemical castration for what could be a non-sexual comment misconstrued as an indecent proposal.
